I believe most of us spend our lives building perspectives.
We learn from our experiences, form opinions, discover what we believe to be true, and over time, those perspectives become the way we understand the world.
But there is something we often forget: what we know may not be the whole picture.
A truth we have discovered may only be part of a larger truth. A perspective that feels complete may be missing another point of view. A lesson we have learned may be true for us, but not necessarily the entire story.

No. D180 is not built only around familiar names. The focus is on what is being discovered, shared and questioned. You may walk into the room knowing very little about a speaker and leave thinking differently because of something they shared.

Each D180 talk is designed around a 16-minute format. The idea is to give one meaningful idea or story enough space to be explored without losing the energy of the room.
D180 is intentionally broad. We are looking for ideas, discoveries, experiences and perspectives from different fields and walks of life. The question is less “What is your profession?” and more: “What have you discovered that others might benefit from seeing?”
No. You don't need to be a professional speaker or someone who has spoken on large stages before. What matters is whether you have something meaningful to share and can communicate it honestly and clearly.
No. D180 is not about celebrity or popularity. It is about bringing different people and different ways of seeing into the same room.
Your work can absolutely be part of your story. However, D180 talks are not intended to be sales pitches or advertisements. The audience should leave with an idea, discovery, experience or perspective · not simply a promotion.
Yes. A meaningful discovery does not depend on age or designation. If you have an idea, experience, perspective or question that you believe is worth sharing, you can apply.
No. Submitting an application does not guarantee a speaking opportunity. The D180 team will review applications and contact selected speakers regarding the next steps.
No. Please submit one application per person. Make sure your application represents the idea, story, perspective or discovery you genuinely want to bring to the D180 stage.
The D180 team will review your submission. If your proposal is shortlisted, the team will contact you regarding the next stage, including refining the idea and preparing the talk.
